In AutoCAD 2015, a new way to create paths and curves has been introduced, called the freehand path tool. 3 Steps to creating a path

To create a path in AutoCAD, you start by opening the path tool (Fig. 1). You first select the type of path you want to create. The path tools are grouped into four categories:

Fills: These tools are used to fill in the space between two or more closed paths (either lines or arcs). Lines and fills are grouped under one category because they can be modified in the same way.

Ovals: You use an oval to create a closed, noncircular path. It is also used to draw closed elliptical and oval-shaped openings.

Next, you select a tool for the type of path you want to create. The following sections explain each of the available tools in greater detail. To close the toolbox after selecting a tool, press the ESC key.
